Beach Baby

Mommy and Daddy took me for my first trip to the ocean today. We didn't get to the actual beach until early evening - and the weather was perfect...not too hot, but not chilly either.

Here I am taking my first peeks at the ocean. The waves were so loud and big - I wasn't sure I liked them so I clung as tightly as I could to Daddy. (LOOK at this photo...go Mommy with the sun flare!)
Daddy brought me into the water to dip my toes. I really didn't like it at first, but after some reassuring I started to smile and look around in amazement.

Mommy was trying to take a family photo using the camera timer. She kept running back and forth - she looked rather silly - and of course I wouldn't cooperate because I was too busy looking all around. Finally a nice lady took this one...the Bage family at the beach!

I LOVED walking around in the sand!

After the sun went down we went over to the fun park area and I got to go on my first carousel ride. It took me a while to pick a horsie - but I liked this one. Again I kept looking all around in amazement. I actually watched the ceiling the most - it kept moving! I liked the ride and I even waved to Daddy.

On our way out Daddy and I stopped to look in the fun house mirrors...wait until Grama sees this one - she'll faint over how much I have grown! I smiled and giggled at the mirror. Daddy looked funny...

Tongue in cheek...

I have been very interested in my tongue lately... I flip it around all day long (as seen here). I guess I like how it feels against these new teeth of mine. Mommy laughs at me. She says I make some pretty funny faces!

...that I like the movie "Follow That Bird"? Wait. I don't just like it.

I am obsessed with it.

I have been crabby lately and very clingy to Mom. She really needed to do the dishes so she let me watch my movie for a bit. That Big Bird cracks me up! Oh - and the other day Lilly and Hannah Rose gave me my very own Big Bird - that I love, love, LOVE. This is extra special because they got him from their Mimi, and they really, really loved her. When they showed him to me I got so excited - waving my arms all around, laughing, bouncing, and cooing - that they insisted I keep him. They said it would have made their Mimi very happy to see how happy he made me...Score!

Monday = grocery shopping day

Dog Days of Summer

I took Mahoney to a dog party at the park today called "The Dog Days of Summer." There were so many different kinds of dogs there! Mommy liked the Dalmatian, Daddy liked the St.Bernard, I liked the Cockier spaniel, and Mahoney liked...well...Mahoney liked EVERYBODY!!! My favorite part was watching all the doggies run around and go swimming.

8 months old!

Here I am - 8 months old today! I refused to stay sitting in one spot for this one - I kept crawling away, looking away, grabbing my words, and making a fuss. Mommy had Daddy hold my hand so I could stand up - I love standing up now so then I was ALL smiles.

3 day catch up

We have been busy living life!

(Monday) Daddy has been reading to me. Right now this is my favorite book, Zoo's Who? There are spots to pet the animals. my favorite is the zebra. No matter what page Daddy tries to read, I keep turning back to that good ol' zebra!

(Tuesday) I am really getting the hang of this standing and playing thing. I love to flip the doors over on this table.

Also, Mommy went to met with the lady about her new job today (just part-time, 2 days a week) and Miss Kristy watched me. I didn't like being in a new place, and I really didn't like Mommy leaving, but Ezri was there so that made me feel better...and Mommy put on "Follow That Bird" before she left, so that helped too. I was okay while she was gone though. I played and played...I just didn't like it when Miss Kristy tried to leave the room. When Mommy got back she found me belly down, in the middle of the floor, surrounded by toys, fast asleep on a bright yellow star pillow. Miss Kristy didn't even give me that pillow - I crawled right over to it myself and put myself to sleep. Mommy said I was very cute. She didn't have her camera with her though - silly Mommy. When is she going to learn?

(Today) Sometimes Mommy lets me skip my bath and lets me take a shower with Daddy instead. I look at the water spraying down and put my hands out to feel it. I also open my mouth and let it squirt inside - it feels funny and makes me laugh! After I shower I am good and tired - and ready for B-E-D!

A french fry at the fair!

We went to the W*field Fair today and Mommy gave me my first french fry (she broke them up into tiny, little pieces so I wouldn't choke and so Daddy wouldn't stress out and have a heart attack). I had fun trying to eat it.

Then we went to the tractor pull. I liked to watch the tractors and hear the load engines. We also saw farm animals, booths with lots of colorful crafts, people singing karaoke, and rides too. Mommy and Daddy ate a bunch of other fair food - which they didn't share. How rude!

Drive-in

Mommy and Daddy took me to a place called the drive-in tonight. It had a really big thing that looked like a TV...OUTSIDE! We parked right up front too. It was a chilly night so I had to wear a sweater and snuggle up in some blankets. Mommy even let me sit in her chair like a big boy for this picture. We saw two movies, "Underdog" and "Rush Hour 3." It was so much fun!

The Scoop

Went to The Scoop for the first time today. I played (very happily) with Mommy and saw the animals. Apparently I like chickens.

Batbaby

Defending the baby world from early bedtimes, soiled diapers, and lima beans...it's da-na na-na na-na na-na, da-na na-na na-na na-na - Batbaby!

beep-beep, beep-beep, yeah!

Mommy showed me how to ride in this neat car today. My legs are still too short so Mommy has to give me a push. I loved holding onto the steering wheel and beeping the horn.

Look what happened to me TODAY! Is this why they say, "Curiosity killed the cat?" Did it ever lasso a Memphis?

Another weekend with Grama and Pop!

I had a great weekend with Grama and Pop. Their new house is near a really big lake...and the lake was having a celebration called Canal Fest.

Daddy bought me a portable DVD player to watch on the long ride. Spoiled...I know.

I just love that Miss Finch - she is SO funny!

Of course, I love exploring new places and getting into things!

Pop fed me breakfast. I liked that!

Grama took me to the beach for the first time...not sure I liked THAT.

We stopped and watched some big kites. I liked watchign the pretty colors go

around and around. Pop liked to watch me watch the colors!

That night we went to see fireworks! More pretty colors.

The rest of the weekend I spent exploring and getting into things.

Simpsonized!

Here I am - crawling around today in the grass. I love it outside, especiallyin the swing. During naptime Mommy had the whole family "Simpsonozed" at http://simpsonizeme.com/# . Then she looked back at this photo and chuckled...it really does look like me!

Round, round, get around, I get around...

I LOVE my walker! My favorite thing to do is to crash into things...but first I have to get going really, really fast. They call me crazy man. I pretty much laugh and yell the whole time I run about...and STUCK? I could never get stuck in this thing! I am now a master at backing out of corners, turning around, and following Mommy everywhere she goes.

Mommy and Daddy heard that spending time in a walker can actually DELAY the development of my real walking - but they decided what the hay?!!! I love it so much, who cares! Besides, I think Mommy secretly never wants me to walk because she wants me to stay her little baby forever and ever...

Music man

I LOVE music - Mommy let me listen to something she called headphones today. My friend Hannah Rose let me borrow hers. They made me smile and bop!...even if they were pink.

She calls it "color selection"...whatever that means. She says it is when you convert a photo to black & white, but "select" a part to stay in color. What do you think?
