12-8-08...How Lovely Are Your Branches...

I am in love with our Christmas tree. I won;t let Momma and Daddy turn it off. When they try I say, "twee ohn. Twee ohn. Momma. Pwee. Twee ohn."

Every hour or so today I went over to the tree and named all the ornaments that I could. And whenever anyone comes to visit (including the plumber) I bring them over to the tree and tell them all about it.

My favorite ones are:

"ran do" - reigndeer
"bay-bee" - The Baby and Momma hugging
"drah-mmms" - drums
"choo choo" - train
"sta-wa" - star
"can-do kay" - candy cane
"eh-wa" - elf
"Ho Ho" - Santa
"ah-poo" - apple
"beh-wa" - bell
"na na" - the Momma, Daddy, and Baby in bed
"key key" - gingerbread cookie
"sna moe" - snowman
"yah-yah bee-wa" - the old car with the bear

12-7-08...Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

We decorated our "Ho twee" (translation: Christmas tree) today. I put on my newest ornament. It's a (you guessed it) choo choo train.
Daddy put the star on top, like he always does.

Here it is...our tree!

12-6-08...visiting Santa with Max

My good ol' cousin Max took me to visit Santa in the city tonight. We had to walk on the side walks, wait for lots of "don't walk" signals, and go past a bunch of wee-oos (vehicles with sirens). Every time we walked over a crosswalk I yelled out "Choo choo tra! Choo choo tra!" becasue they reminded me of train tracks.
As we got closer and closer to where Santa was, there were more and more lights!

I brought a gift and gave it to Santa to give to Toys For Tots. Momma helped me pick it out - it was a fashion design set for a big girl (stratigically chosen so that I wouldn't get upset when it came time to give it to Santa). I put it in the box all by myself.

We had to wait in line for a few minutes and at first I kept saying, "No Ho! No Ho! No Ho!" and whinning. Momma said, "Oh boy! THIS shoud lbe fun." But when it was my turn, Santa's helper opened the gate for me and I RAN witha huge smile on my face right into Santa's arms. He scooped me up and hugged me tight! I hugged him right back and said, "Oh Ho! My Ho!"

Max was not as happy to Santa. This made me a bit concerned. The BEST news is that since Max was so upset, Santa gave us candy cane in an attempt to cheer him up.

I love "con-doe kay!" (translation: candy canes)

12-5-08...Oh Christmas Tree!

After play group this morning Momma and Daddy took me to buy a REAL Christmas tree of our very own (of course, I call it a "Ho Ho tree.") There were a LOT of trees to pick from.

I helped pick the perfect tree, then Daddy cut it done with his power saw and I helped drag it to Daddy's truck. It was a lot of work. Daddy said I am a good helper.

12-4-08...Ho Ho Choo Choo

In case you don't know, my most FAVORITE thing to watch on TV right now is the movie "The Polar Express" which I lovingly call "Ho Ho Choo Choo." Tonight Momma and Daddy actually took me for a ride on the REAL Polar Express!!!!
I wore my jammies on the train, just like in the story. I was most thrilled about my red robe, because the boy in the story has a robe too. As soon as Momma showed it to me I smiled and got all excited and said, "Momma! Ho Ho choo choo! Ho ho choo choo!" When we were waiting for the train to leave I was so excited. I kept looking out the window at all the Christmas lights.
Once the train got going and we were on our way we eventually stopped at North Pole Station to pick up Santa and Mrs. Claus. I met Mrs. Claus first. She gave me a big hug and I SMILED!!!!!

When Santa came by I COULDN'T BELIEVE MY EYES!!!! As soon as he came into our car I yelled, "Ho Ho! Ho Ho!" and jumped and pointed. He gave me a very special present...

...my very own bell! I (of course) shook and shook it. I love the way it sounds.

We sang Christmas carols (I tried to read along). We even had hot chocolate and sugar cookies! Momma and Daddy waited for the hot chocolate to cool off some and then they put it in my sippy cup for me. It was delicious and I kept asking for "Moe! Moe co co."

It was all very magical!

11-16-08...my new "big boy" room...Ka-Chow!

Tonight was the big night - the FIRST night in my OWN room, in my big boy bed. We got my fish tank all hooked up a few days ago, and put fish in it last might. Daddy worked carefully to make sure the room was very, very safe for me today. He screwed the fish tank down tot he stand, and the stand to the wall. He covered the plugs and cords. He locked all the windows and installed a gate at the top of the stairs. I have 3 night lights in my room - a little Mater one by the foot of my bed, a Lighting McQueen one on my shelf, and (of course) my fish tank. Momma and Daddy also put 2 little night lights in the hallway (in case I need to get to Momma and Daddy's room during the night). Momma also put some of my favorite stuffed animals in my room, a box of books, my beanbag chair, and my car garage with some cars - to make me feel more comfy.

I was totally fine (and excited) to sleep in my new bed. It was Momma and Daddy that needed some comforting...

(LATER NOTE: I did GREAT last night! I slept the WHOLE night in my bed without a problem. My Daddy was a wreck though! I did wake up a few times during the night, but I didn't cry at all. One time I sat up, looked around and said, "hew-wa ishies" (Memphis translation: "hello fishies.") I saw that my door was wide open, and knew I could go see Momma and Daddy if I wanted to, but I was fine! I watched my fishies until I fell asleep again. I woke up a little after 7:00 this morning and stood in the hallway and said, "Momma?" Then Momma said hello and told me to come and lay in her bed with her for a little while before we got up (I brought some cars with me to visit her).

11-15-08...Auntie Maura

My honorary "Auntie" Maura came to visit me today. She lives in New York City. Momma said we can go visit her soon. I really like her. I kept hugging her and cuddling her. Do you remember her? She was the one who taught Momma all about Blogs. She is the reason Got Memphis? exists!

11-14-08...wash, wash, wash your hands

I'm gettign very good at this!

11-1-3-08...Band Practice

Daddy had band practice tongiht. He let me practice too.

11-12-08...My Baby's Heart

Momma went to the midwife today and she got to hear my Baby's heartbeat for the first time. The midwife said it was in the 150s, and "Nice and Strong. Perfect." Momma said it sounded just like mine when I was in her belly.

I like to pat Momma's belly now and say, "Hew-wa bay-bee. Awwww. Bay-bee!"

11-9-08...A Day Out With Thomas

Momma and Daddy took me to meet Thomas the Tank Engine today. He's a real REAL steam engine!

When we got there I was in Heaven - there were SO MANY train tables to play with. I played a lot! And I was such a good boy - I shared with all the other kids and didn't try to grab at all. I was happy to wait my turn.

I got to sit in a GIANT Thomas made out of Legos.

And then we saw Thomas!

When we were waiting to leave on our ride I kept showing Momma and Daddy my choo choo tattoo on my hand, "Momma! Momma! See-it! Choo-choo! WOW!"
While we were riding I looked out the window and SMILED ear to ear.

11-6-08...The Greatest Show on Earth!

Grama took us to the circus tonight. WOW!

I really, really like the show.

Every time an act was over I would sign "more" and say "Maw! Maw! Maw!"

I was amazed and mesmerized for the WHOLE show.

Very mesmerized.

Very, very, mesmerized.

11-5-08...painting

Grama is here visiting. She pained my new room today - and she let me help! We painted the room blue, and Grama and Pop ordered me a REAL Lightning McQueen bed! I can't wait for it to get here. My room is going to be the coolest.

11-4-08...I voted!

Momma and Daddy took me with them to vote tonight. On our way there Momma said, "Memphis, we're going to vote!" So I said, "VOTE!" with great enthusiasm. The rest of the way I kept saying "Vote! Vote. Vote. VOTE!" I went into the booth with Daddy - he even let me color in a bubble. When we were done we got these cool stickers that said, "I voted." Then, when we were getting back into the car I started to cry and I kept saying, "Vote. Vote. Vote!" Momma told me we had already voted. I didn't realize that was all there was to it - or maybe, I just wanted to vote some more.
