Backyardigans

What can I say? I'm hooked.
This is where you can findme while Momma makes lunch...parked in my Bumbo, blanket in hand. I share my Elmo chair with Ezri, because I am a very sweet boy.

A Lesson In Bubblegum Machine Play

I got this really cool bubblegum machine toy for Christmas. I have been playing with it a lot lately and have perfected my method...
1) Bang the balls together and laugh. It's okay. I agree. They DO make a really fun noise.
2) Place balls in the bubblegum machine, through the hole in the top. If you are really advanced, you can try doing two balls at once...but I warn you, I am a professional.
3) Make sure they are in there. Yup. They're in there.
4) Press the lever and watch the balls come out the shoot. Don't forget to dance to the music!

5) Repeat. MANY times.

Had My Hair Piled High...Baby Just Looks So Right!

Daddy was in charge of getting me dressed today...so I got my first pompadour! Cool.

What do you think? I look more like Brian Setzer or Elvis? Or Daddy?
Momma was making such a fuss over me, I had to check it out in the mirror for myself...
They're right! LOOK AT ME!!!! I am one cool kat. Very exciting!
Yup. I do look like my Da Da.

(P.S. This is a formal apology to Auntie Sarah - who is a dedicted stalker of my Blog and hounded my Mommy about not helping me post sooner. It won't happen again. Love you Auntie Sarah!)

1-25-08...Puppy Power!!!

Matthew got a puppy. She is a chocolate lab named Casey. She is really cute, and really full of energy. She likes to run all around, all around, fetch, steal my toys...and yikes! She has SHARP little teeth. The way I look at it, it's okay if she nips me a little now...because just think of the pay bay Matthew and I will get someday! Really. Poor dogie.

1-24-08...Celebrating 13-months old!

Today I turn 13 months old. My friend Lexi came to visit me, and since she couldn't make it to my birthday party, Momma re-created the fun for her. We got to wear left over party hats, I gave Lexi a party bag full of goodies, and she gave me a birthday gift. We both got to eat apple pie (instead of cake). It was delicious. I really liked those Elmo hats!

1-22-08...Feeding Myself

I am learning to feed myself. What a big boy I am getting to be!
It takes a lot of coordination, you know. I have to learn how to hold the spoon, get yogurt ON the spoon, and then get the spoon up to my mouth.
Of course, it is always fun to just DUMP the yogurt out too. Hey! I never claimed to be clean about it.
It is also important to share with Mahoney. I am such a sweet boy!

1-20-08...Hide N Seek

Yup. That would be me. IN the cabinet. Best place ever.
Today I discovered all I have to do is throw all the junk that Momma keeps in the cabinet OUT of the cabinet and I fit quite nicely. Who needs tupperware anway? Excellent source of entertainment.

In and Out

Momma says I'm in the "repetitive play" phase. I like to open the door, go in and shut the door...open the door, go out and shut the door...open the door, go in and shut the door...open the door, go out and shut the door...for HOURS. It's way fun.

1-16-08...Max's Visit

Max came to visit today. Boy, is he getting BIG! I let him borrow my old bouncy chair...but I wanted to get in it too so I could smile at him. Auntie held me so I could take a peek. Later, when Max started to cry I tried to share my baby doll's ba-ba with him, but he didn't seem too interested. Weird. My baby likes it just fine.

1-15-08...First BIG Snowman

Today Momma let me build a BIG snowman outside. We rolled three balls of snow and put them on top of each other. We used 2 of my plastic balls for eyes, a carrot for the nose, and a left-over piece of my birthday streamers for the mouth. We gave him a scarf and a birthday hat (in honor of Auntie Stefanie's 18th birthday today). We couldn't find any sticks for arms...so we used BBQ tools. Viola!....SNOWMAN.

First Snowman

I missed Daddy while he was out snow blowing today (Yup. We had another storm.) I kept banging on the door. Momma didn't think it was such a good idea for me to play in the snow since I am FINALLY starting to feel better (and sleep through the night - woo hoo!) So instead my smart Momma brought the snow in, to me. She filled a tray up with snow and then we built my first snowman. He had brown eyes and an orange smile. I put a bunch of my cars and Sesame Street toys in the snow too. I even ate a little bit of it. I kept touching the snow and Momma kept saying, "Cold. Oooo, cold snow!" After a while I started saying "Ca!" I was trying to say cold.

Good Boy Mahoney

I am really quite fond of doggies. They make me smile and giggle...especially my Mahoney. Momma and Daddy are always saying how he is such a good boy. He loves me so much and loves when I play with him. Sometimes it's like he thinks I'm HIS baby.

I love him too. I always seem to find him and give him some love...you know...smack him, pull his ears, grab his tail, climb on his back...all the stuff he loves.

Tonight I inspected his mouth and gave him hugs.

1-10-08 - Diaper Rash

I am feeling much, much better...but I still have to take that yucky-ucky-ucky antibiotic...which upsets my belly and gives me diaper rash. When Daddy changed my diaper tonight he thought my bottom looked so red that he decided to let me air out a bit. Neat. There's nothing I like better than watching TV with a nudie-pudie bottom....I was so appreciative that I wee-weed right on the floor for him.

1-9-08 - Hat on!

I love playing this game! "Hat on!" "Hat off!" I love it so much that I have started to try to put everything on my head like a hat. Today it was tupperware. Glad tupperware sure dies make me glad!

Swingin' in the snow, just swingin' in the snow...

Since the weather was so nice today (50 degrees!), Momma let Ezri and me play outside for a while. I love, love, LOVED it!!!! Look! I go to try out my new snowsuit (thanks Grama!).

The other day Uncle Dj came to borrow my old swing for Baby Matthew and I was going crazy trying to get in it. Momma got the message. She knew I really missed swinging. So today she shoveled out under the big boy swing and let me swing away. Of course, Ezri wanted to swing too...and I don't mind sharing.

Looks a little different from our summer time photo from July....

1-6-07

I had a great time playing with bubbles today! Every time Momma blew some I said, "Bu bu! Bu bu!" ...and then I would put my finger out and say, "pop pop." Momma and Daddy thought it was way cute.

Geoffrey's Birthday Club

The other day I got a birthday card in the mail from Geoffrey Giraffe, with a gift card, telling me to come into the store for a surprise...so Momma and Daddy took me Toys R Us today. I got a special birthday balloon and crown - and they even made an announcement for me over the speakers int he whole store!

(Sorry this video is sideways. Momma wasn't really thinking when she shot it, and turned the camera sideways...then realized there was no way to flip the video...silly Momma!)

I used the gift card to buy one of my favorite things...a book!

Nebulized...

So I have had this cough (for almost a month now) and although I was just at the doctor a week ago (and he said I was fine) my cough got much, much worse over the last 3 or 4 days. Yesterday I started tugging on my left ear. I have had a little fever too, and I keep waking up at night coughing and having trouble breathing...so Momma decided to take me to the doctor again today. She thought they were going to laugh at her and tell her I was perfectly fine...that it was just a bad cold...but she wanted to make sure.

I have a double ear infection again...and low oxygen. They made me use a nebulizer while I was there. Then they made Momma take it home with me. Now I have to use this said nebulizer for a week.

Luckily I am the easiest, most laid back baby EVER, and I don't mind. I even hold the tube in my mouth all on my own. No protesting (unless I really want to suck my thumb). Daddy was really rather sad about it all - but Momma reminded him it could be much, much worse. The plan is that my nasty, nasty cold will be all gone in a week and I won't need the nebulizer anymore. Keep your fingers crossed.

"All Done"

While visiting Grama and Pop I started doing the ASL sign for "all done" and saying it too! At first Momma and Daddy weren't sure if I was really doing it, or if it was just a coincidence...but I keep doing it every time I am finished eating. Momma took this photo of me doing it at breakfast time...then she videotaped me at lunch.

A New Year...

Starting the new year off right...
...a nap with Daddy. I have another cold - cough, coughing, and green snotties. Momma thought the extra nap would be good for me, and she knew Daddy could use one since it is his last day of vacation and he spent the better half of the afternoon snow blowing the driveway. After Momma took this photo she joined in the nap festivities herself. Naps are nice. Who could resist?

And now, for a neat piece of Memphis trivia...
Today is January 1st (1/1) and I am exactly 1 year 1 week and 1 day old. All 1s!
