Peek-a-boo!

I started playing peek-a-boo with Momma (for the first time) today. I've always loved that game - it makes me laugh, laugh, laugh. I am very good at playing it with my blanket, but I have never actually tried to use my hands before. Momma was playing all by herself and I thought, "Gee, that looks like fun. I bet I could do that." So I tried it too. It's a little harder than it looks. I had a bit of trouble finding my eyes to cover them...but if you just close them real tight you don't even know the difference!...

PEEK...
A...
BOO!!!!!!
I see you!
I'm so funny!
Really.
And charming too.

Still recovering...

Still not feeling 100%. Grampa came to visit me tonight. He brought pizza! Yum. We played a little "hat on, hat off" and that brightened my spirits.

The antibiotic has caught up with me though - giving me diarrhea, and thus a bad diaper rash...no matter how much Desitin momma slathers on. After my tubby Momma let me lay on her without my diaper to let my poor red bum air out. I hope it helps.

Cabela's

Momma and Daddy took me to the new Cabella store today. Well, they told me it was a store - but it was more like museum or something! There were all kinds of animals to look at, an aquarium, a shooting gallery, toys, hats...and lots of fun!

Ooooooooo! Hello big fish.

I love this glass elevator! Look at the rams...and the mountain goats...and the trees...and the waterfall...and the airplace!

I found an elephant!

Davy...Davy Memphis...king of the wild frontier!
My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.
This is my "who can I get to buy this for me?" look.
Hmmmm. If only Grandma were here.

2-23-08...to the Dr. - AGAIN!

My medicine ran out this morning (it has only been 8 days and I was supposed to take it for 10) AND Momma realized last night that I still had a temp...so she called the Dr. this morning. They made me come in...again. Good thing too. Last weekend I only had the start of an ear infection in my left ear and my right ear was all clear. Today the Dr. said my left ear looked terrible and my right ear was infected too. This antibiotic didn't work! So now I am on ANOTHER one (this is the 4th kind). Momma and Daddy are worried. The good news is the Dr. said my wheezing is all better.

I am a trooper though. Other than the temp and the troble sleeping at night - I seem fine. I have been playing and am generally jolly. I won't even let a double ear infection get me down.

Just say a little prayer that this antibiotic works!

2-22-08...sledding

There was a big winter storm all day today so Momma and Daddy took me to the giant hill next door to go big boy sledding (for the first time)!
I was very excited to be there.
Daddy took me ALL THE WAY UP to the very top of the big, big hill.
Then we came WHOOSHING down through the fluffy, powdery snow. WEEEEEEEE!
HELP!!!!! Where's my Daddy? I am being kidnapped by the abominable snowman!

"Itsy Bitsy" baking project

I helped Momma bake today (it was my first time). We made banana bread - from scratch! She lined up all the ingredients and told about what she was doing...mash up the bananas (mash, mash), 1 1/2 cups of flour (pour it in, pour it in) 1 teaspoon of vanilla (not too much), 2 egg whites (crack the eggs, crack, crack), etc... - then she let me mix it, mix it!

Later, we ate banana bread after dinner and it put me in such a good mood I kept trying to sing "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"

2-19-08...bug bike

My Auntie Desiree and Uncle Tyler got me this bike for Christmas. Momma alwasy says it kind of looks like a prayign mantis, so we call it the bug bike. I am still a bit small for it, but I am super smart and have figured out if I shift my weight to one side then my foot can touch the floor and I can push with one foot. Weeeeee!

I like to ride on it and remind everyone who is #1.

Pet Dinosaur

My favorite episode of Sesame Street is "Elmo's Pet Dinosaur." Momma DVRd it, so I can watch it whenever I want now. I love to watch Elmo and his dinosaur while I hold one of my dinosaurs. I love dinosaurs, just like Elmo!

2-17-08...zanya!

Feeling MUCH better today, thank you! Medicine is amazing.

I went to visit the Momma's BIG familt today for zanya. It is a special food that Pa Pa Lou's family ate when they lived in Italy. It is a tradition still, for the Lalli family.

Zanya is a flat pasta noodle that is home-made. Italian sauasge, bacon, and other meats, as well as garlic, and paprika are all cooked in oil...then you add the pasta to the oil. It is delicious! "In the old country" my family would make it for big get-togethers because it wasn't too expensive to make, and didn't require a lot of plates and untensils...becasue you eat it with your hands, you see. Pa Pa Lou has told me that when he was little, his Momma (my Momma's Nonna) would put all the meat on the bottom of the pot becasue it was the best part...and everyone would have to dig to get it, and try not to burn their hands.

ANYWAY - to keep the tradition, we still eat it out of a pot with our hands. You have to wash your hands REAL GOOD first. We can't leave the pot until it's all gone!
Here I am at the pot. Daddy cooled a noodel off for me and then let me eat it. YUM!
Everyone has fun standign around the pot eating and talking...2 things Italian's do best. Do you see my Daddy?
Everyone enjoyed holding me...and I was in a very friendly mood too (as usual). When Auntie Darla was holding me she tried to feed me soem zanya. I ate one...thent he next tiem she tried to do it I snatched it out of her hand, quick as a wink, and shoved it in her mouth instead. It really surprised her. She thought it was very funny!

2-16-08...sick again

I was up all Friday night, crying. Daddy stayed up with me. This morning the Dr.'s phone was busy, busy, busy...so Momma and Daddy just ook me there. I have another ear infection. Wheezing again too. Had to do a neb treatment while we were there and then the Dr. said I sounded much better. This time the Dr. just gave Momma and Daddy a nebulizer to keep forever...lucky me.
Here I am waiting for the Dr.

When we got home I finally fell asleep in Daddy's arms.

I would walk 500 miles...

Yup. It's official. I am a walking maniac!!!!

Don't forget who's #1!

2-14-08...Happy Valentine's Day!

It's true. I AM the king of hearts!
For Valentine's Day I made Daddy my very first finger painting. It was gooey, and messy, and fun!

As a gift for Momma, I played a drum solo. She loved it.
Then Momma tried to take my photo and I WOULDN'T STAY STILL! This was the ONLY shot she was able to get. Look. See that devilish look about me? I'm getting good at that look.

2-13-08...18 miles to Memphis

I have been driving lately. A LOT.
Today I spent most of the day driving about...

I drove my little train...
...my school bus...
...my Bert and Ernie motorcycle...
...and my fire engine...

...amongst other various vehicles. I even like to drive them under things and pretend they are going through tunnels. I drive them up things too, like walls, chairs, Momma's leg...

The best part is when I get my vehicle noise going. Momma says "vroooom, vrooom." Daddy says "brrrrrrrum, brrrrum." Not me. Momma and Daddy think those noises are still a little too hard for me to make. Not true. I just like my noise better. I drive around saying "kkkkkkkkkkkkkk! kkkkkkk!"

I'm not a brat...I'm just opinionated!

VERY opinionated lately.
I want what I want. And when I don't get what I want I do this...
I arch my belly and back, open my mouth and scream - a loud, fake cry. Oh and I put this pitiful look on my face and even break out the crocodile tears on many occassions. Unfortunately it really has no affect on Momma and Daddy. They just let me scream and make a fool of myself. Sometimes I even catch them laughing at me - how dare they!
