I was swingign today, looked up in the sky, and saw one single cloud floating up there, all by itself. I had never really noticed clouds before this. I pointed, very excited, and said, "Zee! Zee! Zee! Is it?" (Memphis translation "See! See! See! What is it?") Momma told me it was a cloud. I found it fascinating.

Lately, however, the thing in the sky that I most like to talk about is the sunshine. Today (while we were driving to Ezri's) the sun was shinning through the window, right onto me. I HATE it when it does that. I turned my head, kicked my feet, closed my eyes and wailed, "Oh no! Oh no! Su-shy! Su-shy! Oh no su-shy!"

crash

Last night I was driving my car around, and every time I crashed into something I would cry. Daddy told me, "Just floor it!" You see, if I just keep going I crash right through whatever obstacle is in my way.

Today I tried to crash through my indoor climber...and this is the result. I drove UP the slide. Thanks for the advice Dad.

8-26-08...Blossoming Acres

There is a farm in town called Blossoming Acres. They make Daddy's favorite pie - banana split pie - YUM! We went to get one today and I noticed the GORGEOUS flower field behind the barn. I frantically pointed and signed "flower! flower! flower!"Momma asked the farmer lady if we could go back there and she said yes. On our way I saw a nice doggy (I called her "daw-dee" and signed dog while panting like a dog ) and then some really small cute kittens (which I called "eee-yahs"). There were tractors back there, I said hello to each one (ha-la dra-der). Then Momma took my picture with Daddy.

8-24-08...big boy bed

Today Momma woke up and saw that I had swung one leg over my crib railing - I was trying to climb out. So bye bye crib, hello big boy bed! Momma and Daddy took me to the store and let me pick out my bedding - I chose Cars. Momma was nervous that I wouldn't go to sleep and would walk around the room, or if I did fall asleep that i might fall out of bed. I have been so so good. No problems. I don't get out of my bed by myself. when I wake up I sit up and talk to myself patiently and wait for someone to come and tell me it's okay to get up. And I haven't fallen out (but Momma put a big fluffy blanket on the floor, just in case)...
Here I am at nap time.
Here I am in bed for the night. Can you see me all covered up in there?

Momma was watching the monitor tonight when I went to sleep. I rolled around a bit, played with my dinosaur, and sat up and looked around. Then I looked down at my sheets (int he dark), pointed and said, "A car!" Then I pointed to another one and said, "Ohhh! A car!" I kept pointing, "A car! A car! A car!" They were everywhere. I was very impressed.

8-23-08...toad

Look what me and Momma caught outside tonight...a toad!!!!

I tried to give him a kiss...

...and share my choo choos with him.

8-22-08...choo choo museum

Momma and Daddy brought me to the Trolley museum today - it is a place full of TRAINS (aka "choo choos"...of course). I think it is the best place on Earth.

We started with a trip to the gift shoe where I got my very own choo choo hat and played with a bunch of choo choo toys. here you can see that Daddy's OCD may very well be hereditary...as I try to impulsively line up these choo choos.

I found a Thomas that was just my size! Peep peep!

We got to ride on 2 choo choos. One was green and the other had no roof!...can you believe it? My favorite part was hearing the whistles blow. Look! I am pretending to be a choo choo with a whistle.

There was a train table to play with...which I did, for a very, very long time.

What can I say? I LOVE choo choos!

8-21-08...a new toy

Momma got me this toy from "Once Upon A Child" yesterday. I can use all the buttons and levers to make the vehicles go. I am obsessed. I played with it for an hour straight and cried when Momma made me go outside. My favorites (of course) are the train and the car.

8-20-08...picking a present

When we visited Grama and Pop last time, Grama helped me pick a flower in the yard to give to Momma. Ever since, I have been picking lots of grass in our own yard and giving it to Momma. What do you want? We don't have any flowers?

8-19-08...early intervention

My EI teacher, Jess, came to play with me today. She is helping me learn to talk. She let me play with play dough - my first time! She had this stamper set that was just perfect for me...there was a choo choo, a car, a truck, and even a doggy. How did she know all my favorite things? While we were playing I imitated "poke" "roll" and "pull." I was very proud.

Come along and be my POTTY boy...

Look what I did today...

Ezri was sitting on the potty first, and when she got off I went over and said, "pee pee, pee pee." So Momma helped me take my bottoms off and let me sit on the potty too.

And then I waited...

and waited...

and waited...

and watched "choo choos" on TV...

then I got up and - LOOK! There is PEE PEE in the potty! My FIRST pee pee in the big boy potty!!!!

I was SO PROUD. Momma asked, "Memphis - what is that?" I looked in too and said, "Pee pee! Pee pee!" I clap-clapped my hands and smiled SO BIG!

8-17-08...W*field Fair

We went to the W*field Fair tonight. One year ago, at the same fair, I had my very first french fries. We celebrated my anniversary with - you guessed it - more french fries! See here http://gotmemphis.blogspot.com/2007/08/french-fry-at-fair.html

I really liked the goats.

And we watched the horse pulls. Those horses were very big and strong!

And since I am bigger this year, I got to ride on some rides. And we all know how I feel about rides. Daddy took my on my first ferris wheel. Weeeeeee!

And I rode a kitty-cat on the merry-go-round.

But my favorite FAVORITE part was the bounce house! I have never been in a bounce house before because they are usually so crowded and Momma and Daddy are worried I will get bumped and hurt. This bounce house was empty so Momma and Daddy let me go in. It was awesome! The only problem was I didn't want to get out.

8-16-08...Daddy's car

Meme got this car for Daddy. It is a 1939 Pontiac - and the moment I first saw it I said, "wowwww!" and ran over and hugged it. Really...I did. Now every time I see it in the driveway I say, "yeah yeah!" It doesn't run and isn't really in very good condition (which was why Meme got it for so cheap) but Daddy is going to work and work on it until we can go for a drive (it may be a few years though!)

Daddy needed help picking the car up - so Uncle DJ went with him and Matt got to come over my house to play. We played cars. Well...I played with the cars and Matthew ate them.
Do you notice the red bump on Matthew's head? Yup...that would be from me. When Momma first gave Matt one of my cars I wasn't very happy about it and I took it away and whopped him on the head with it and yelled "NO!" Well that made Momma mad and Matthew cry. So I got a time out and I gave Matt a hug and apologized and gave him the car back - and then we played quite happily. Uncle DJ said it's okay - it will make Matt tough.

Ahh...our first fight. The first of many, I'm sure.

Zee...zee...zee...DA!

Da! Da! Da! Da! (translation: Go! Go! Go! Go!)

I don't walk anywhere anymore. Walking is for babies. I make Momma WORK for her photos now a days. Ha! Catch me if you can Momma!!!!

Ha-la!

When I was upstairs I started talking like I was on the phone. When Momma looked carefully she said that I was actually talking on a calculator...whatever THAT is. It looks like a cell phone to me! The reception on this thing is as good as a real cell phone here anyway - NONE. I didn't mind one bit though. I kept running around, with the calculator to my ear telling the make-believe person all about Daddy's truck and all about kitty cats. "Ha-la. Dadee...twuh. Dadee twuh. Ee-ya. Eeee-ya. Oh no! Da da." (Memphis translation: Hello. Daddy's truck. Daddy's truck. Meow. Meeeow. Oh no! Bye bye.)

8-13-08...driving

I play so well - even on my own. My absolute favorite thing to do lately is play with my vehicles. I always have one in my hand (be it a car, truck, train, plane, motorcycle...) and I drive them about and make car driving noises. I especially like my Little Tykes garage, and this Mega Blocks Fast Trax. Momma will be busy doing something and all of a sudden she'll hear me playing... "Zee, zee, zee - DA!" (which translates into 1, 2, 3 - GO!)

8-12-08...I Love Lucy

...the dog. Not the show. I've never seent he show, actually.
