I woke up with a cold - coughing, phlegm, booger-snots...generally wet and juicy. Not fun.

9-16-08...my trike
Momma had to work today - and Meme watched me all day. When Momma and Daddy got home we all played out in the yard. I had a blast on my trike (Momma got it for free last fall off the side of the road. She's so thrifty.) I have been practicing putting my feel on the pedals.

Look! I'm already a good big brother - an the baby is still in Momma's belly. Here I am giving my little sister/brother a push on my trike.
Later I ran all around the yard and Daddy chase me. AAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I love that game.

I went to the car sow again tonight to see all the yah-yahs. I recognized where we were right away and started kicking my legs and saying, "WOW!" When we got out of the car I did a happy dance and said, "Da! Da-da-da-da-da-de-da-da-da yah-yahs! Yah-yah! WOW!" My favorite part was sitting on the side of the road and watching all the yah-yahs leave. They sound awesome.Memphis definition: Ya-ya (n.) Any type of old or antique car, preferably a hot rod.

9-14-08...Max vists
Max came for a visit today - we had dinner together. I brought out some of my old toys that I loved when I was his age. I was a very good older cousin and showed him all the things I can do. He thought I was amazing, which made me want to show off for him even more.
After dinner I brought Max to The Scoop. I didn't feel like ice cream, so I got a cookie. Look! I am wearing my new choo-choo hat and bandanna that Auntie brought me. It came with a choo-choo whistle too.
I showed Max all the animals there. These were Max's first goats.

9-13-08...Let's Big E again...
We went to the Big E today - hooray! As soon as I could see the fair from my car seat I got very excited (and I admit, a little impatient too). In the parking lot I was wiggling all around and kick-kicking my legs - ready to go.

Me and Daddy rode on a REAL elephant!
...and we went on (my favorite) the bumpy-bump slide. This was the biggest, fastest one I have ever been on. While Daddy was getting the tickets I sat on a bench, waiting with Momma, and watching other people go down the slide. I was squealing!!! I kept saying, "WOW! Woe!" ...and making my amazed face with my mouth open.
I tried out some merchandise.

I played some games. One of the was the duck game (duh). As soon as I saw it I started pulling on Daddy's hand and saying, "pull! PULL!!!! Du! Du! DU!"
Momma and Daddy let me go on one ride in the midway. I chose these way cool jeeps. I pointed at them and insisted, "Tru! Tru! Tru!" When Daddy said it would be okay I did my happy dance all the way to the gate.
Momma and Daddy ate LOTS of food: a foot long corn dog, sweet potato fries, a steamed burger, a hot dog with kraut, a cider donut, pumpkin seeds, a strawberry milkshake, and fried dough...I think that was everything. They shared some with me. There was other food they wanted too, but their bellies ran out of room!

BIG NEWS!!!!
Can you believe it?

On the day that Momma found out, she helped me make this nice picture for Daddy. I gave it to him when he got home from work. He was very surprised and very happy! Later, I showed my picture to Meme and Auntie - they were happy too! We called Auntie Desiree (and Uncle Tyler and Max), Uncle Seth, and Uncle DJ (Auntie Heather, and Matthew) to tell them on the phone.
We waited to tell Grama and Pop (and the rest of the NY gang) until we went to visit this last weekend. Momma put this cool shirt on me (Daddy helped me pick it out...it says "big bro"). They didn't say anything, they just let me run about in it. After about 15 minutes Momma and Daddy realized no one was noticing, so Momma picked me up and said, "Grama, do you like Memphis' new shirt?" It took her a minute...but she was SHOCKED and happy...very, very, very happy. Then she told Pop to read my shirt. He didn't get it, so Grama had to explain it to him...and he was very, very, very happy too. Now Momma and Auntie Jen are having babies together - they will be about 2 months apart. I will be almost two and a half when my baby brother or sister is born. I am excited.

9-3-08...The zoo at F*est Park
I went to the zoo with Momma, Ezri, Meme, and Auntie Stefie today. We saw many animals, but my favorites were the Black Bears, all the different monkeys, the goats (of course), the kangaroo (she had a baby in her belly pouch), and the leopard (he was hunting a squirrel in his cage).
I talked a lot while we were there. I kept saying good-bye to all my animal friends. When we left the kangaroo I said, "Duh-die roo." When we left the raccoon I said, "Duh-die coo." When we left the leopard I said, "Duh-die ee-yah." (I called the leopard ee-yah because he is a BIG kitty and ee-yah is my word for meow).
After the zoo we played on the playground AND we got to ride the blue choo choo around the park. When the train bell was dinging I spontaneously started saying, "Ning, ning! Ning, ning!" just like the bell. Momma thought it was very, very, very adorable - and she was very proud.

9-2-08...dip dip
Meme has Tuesdays off now so I spent the day with Meme , while Momma went to work. When Momma got home Meme bought us all Chinese food - chicken fingers, YUM! While we were eating I pointed at Momma's plate and kept saying, "di...di...di..." Eventually Momma figured out I was trying to say dip (she had been dipping her chicken into hot mustard). She went and got me some sweet and sour sauce (she said the hot mustard was too spicy for me) and I happily dip, dip, dipped and ate my chicken. I am very proud to show off my dipping talents.

8-31-08...drive-in

I was really fascinated by the stars tonight. I kept pointing to them and talking about them. I also liked it when an airplane flew by, with its lights on. After I couldn't see it anymore I would say, "Dye-dye ah-pay." (Memphis translation: bye-bye airplane)
"Star Wars:Clone Wars" the animated movie and "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" were playing. As soon as Star Wars was over Daddy and me went to sleep.
***By the way - I did NAOTHER pee pee on the potty today! HOORAY!
8-30-08...more pee pee
I did my 2nd pee pee on the potty today!
Momma was cleaning up the kitchen ( I know...Momma CLEANING? Weird. Right?) ANYWAY, she was cleaning up the kitchen and I brought her over the pan part of my potty and said, "Puh puh. Momma? Puh puh?" So she came with me over to my potty by the TV and helped me sit on it - no more than 30 seconds late I did a pee pee. It surprised even me! When I felt it coming out I gasped and then JUMPED up off the potty and looked inside and started frantically saying, "Puh puh! Puh puh! Puh puh!" Then Momma and I carried it into the bathroom and emptied it into the big toilet (just like Joshua and HIS Mommy...and I KNOW all you parents of toddlers know who Joshua is) and I said, "Buh buh puh puh" (just like Joshua did).

8-29-08...conversation with a cow
I went to the 3 County Fair tonight with Momma, Daddy, Auntie Stefanie, Meme, and Meme's friend Ronnie. The firs thing we did was go to the demolition derby. All these cars kept crashing into each other - on purpose! I couldn't take my eyes off of them...not even to eat my french fries (I still ate my fries, I just didn't actually watch what I was doing!)

Our next stop was the Farm-A-Rama barn where I had a very interesting conversation with a baby cow...MOOOOOO! There were other animals too: a giant pig, some goats, a big horse, a baby sheep, baby bunnies, and baby ducklings to name a few. I was very excited and ran-ran-RAN through the whole barn, petting all the animals. I got to ride a little tractor, and sit on a real saddle. There was also a little swimming pool full of dries corn. I sat there for quite a while - driving trucks and shoveling the corn into the buckets and dumping them out again. After about 20 minutes Daddy came over to Momma and said, "He loves it in there - and what a great sensory experience for him!" (UH-OH...Momma's teacher jargon is starting to rub off on my cool Daddy. Great.)

Our last stop was the midway. I went on two rides - the choo-choo and the merry-go-round. Of course I sat up front in the engine of the choo-choo. The last thing i did was play my favorite game - duckies. I had to pick 3 ducks and put them up on the shelf like the lady showed me. I won a little teddy bear (I chose a pink one) and I hugged it the whole way home.
